"India is the largest democracy in the world, the seventh-largest country by area and the second most populous country with a population of 1.29 billion. It has been a favourite destination  for investment by multinational companies due to its large domestic consumption-based economy, favourable demographics, skilled workforce and the continuing focus on emerging markets. India's GDP grew at around 7.9% between 2003 and 2012, and is expected to grow at 7.4% in 2014-2015, compared to 6.9% in 2013-14.
