Dec 2022 - Several measures related to international travels are announced

The State Council announced several measures related to international travels, which will take effect on January 8, 2023.
These measures release the current travel restrictions in place such as health code applications, PCR test and quarantine obligation upon arrival in China.
We summarize some of these measures below.

Test before departure

  • Inbound passengers shall do a nucleic acid test 48 hours before departure.
  • Those with negative result can travel to China without applying for a health code at the Chinese consulate.
  • Those with positive result shall wait until a negative result is obtained before travelling to China.

 

 Quarantine upon arrival

  • No nucleic acid test shall be performed upon arrival.
  • Those with a normal health declaration and no abnormality when crossing customs can proceed without any quarantine.

 

International passenger flights

  • Cancel the controls on the number of international passenger flights.
  • Increase the number of flights in phases and optimize the distribution of routes.

 

Visa to China

  • Further optimize the arrangements for foreigners to come to China, provide corresponding visa facilities.

 

Inbound and outbound tourism

  • In accordance with the international epidemic situation and the ability to provide services in all aspects, the outbound tourism of Chinese citizens will be resumed in an orderly manner.
